?? Blizzard ?? Chickens ??

Here we are once again at this WONDERFUL time of year.   The Christmas shopping is done and we are gearing up for a great winter. We were a little disappointed in the huge blizzard storm that was supposed to come last night, but also a little glad it wasn't worse than it was!!
Also the kids and I have started raising chickens... What the??  It all started on the fourth of July when Gage caught a chicken at the chicken scramble.  He caught a chicken, brought it home, named it KEVIN (the birds name on UP if you haven't seen it you need to) and let it go in the yard! If you dont know much about chickens it is hard to tell what gender they are until about 4-6 months...  Well one day around Halloween Gage was putting away some toys under my lilac bushes and found...

KEVINS LOOT

There were 20 eggs!  (Kevin's a GIRL)   Grandpa Heslop bought them from Gage for $5 and this is where it started.   I started reading about chickens and how they usually only lay eggs when they are happy and not alone.  I figured with winter coming things might change with Kevin's egg laying if he didn't have "friends" .  So to make a long story short, We now have a total of 7 young chickens and the kids have started selling the eggs to their Grandmas and Grandpas and saving the money!

I am thankful for my kids and the fun experiences we get into, and also Thankful for Kory for allowing us to get into them!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Monkeys

Well it is happening my baby is no longer my baby... she is officially a TODDLER!  This week was full of fun, we took the kids to the Zoo Saturday  instead of doing birthday parties (and spent time with family hehe)... We had a lot of fun.  It was Macys first time to the Zoo, she loved seeing the "epalant" and the monkeys and gorilla too.  Then On Monday Broc got to have his special day at kindergarten, Macy and I went and read his book about me to the kids... We carved pumpkins after school... Later that night we opened presents and had cupcakes.  Tuesday was Macy,s birthday she enjoyed the many phone calls and presents that were brought over, the best was when Broc came in with a gift bag full of candy he had gotten for his birthday, and gave his special present to Macy. What a GREAT big brother!  Happy birthday to two great kids!!  Oh and by the way we are now officially done with binkis!

I told them to look at the camera!

Family Pictures

These are the newest pictures of us!

The Boys!
Macy was loving the flowers and not so much the pictures!
Best Buds!
Well, we are back into the swing of things here. Broc is now in Kindergarten, Gage in 3rd grade, which leaves Macy and Me at home  for a couple hours each day. Kory and I just celebrated our 11th anniversary on Sept 8, we ended up spending it up antelope hunting in Wyoming with Grandpa Joe, Mike and Tiff and kids, and Katie and Mike.  It is also Gages birthday on Sept 10 the day the hunt starts so this is an annual tradition that he looks forward to doing on his birthday. We had lots of fun!
This is a picture of Broc just getting out of surgery
In August just before school started Broc had surgery to remove his Tonsils and Adenoids, they also put tubes in his ears at the same time! Poor kid was pretty sore for a couple weeks, but hopefully it will help him this winter!
Eating Popsicle after surgery
Kory Drew out a Black Bear hunting tag for down in the La Sal Mountains by Moab.  He took the boys with him the last weekend in august and filled his tag the first day!!

Finally an update!

I know it has been a while but with the failing health of my old computer, updating my posts took hours to do. As of this week I know have a new computer, and can function at a normal speed!!! YAY!!!   This has been a busy summer, vacations to Puerto vallarta, baseball, swimming lessons, camping trips, parades, family reunions/partys, scouts, etc.    This week Broc went and had his tonsils and adnoids removed, the Dr also put tubes in his ears at the same time. Today he is doing good and hasn't needed as much pain meds as long as he keeps a popcicle in hand!  hopefully he will get feeling better soon.  Macy once again won the Plain City baby contest for her age group got the title of "Queen" and got to ride on the float for the parade.  We have been on several short camping trips so Gage and Broc could go fishing.  Once again summer is "FLYING" by, however I am looking forward to school starting again, Broc will be in kindergarten, and Gage will be in 3rd grade!!

~LOVE~

Geese! I can't believe how fast the days go by! Anyway, a lot has happened since my last post, there were 3 cousins born, 2 boys and a girl. Korys brother Joel and wife Liz had their first baby boy Jesse, the next day his brother Alex and his wife Erin had their second baby a boy and named him Camden, then a little more than 2 weeks later his brother Toby and his wife Mary had their fourth baby a girl and named her Olive. So Congrats to all of them!

Kory is still working nonstop it seems and we are grateful! He for the past year he has been driving down to 73rd south in SLC everyday, and he can't wait till there is a project closer to home!
Gage just finished his first pinewood derby in scouts, and had a blast! I don't know who loved it more Gage or Kory! Gage is also doing great in school and is becoming quite the reader, he loves to read the "Magic Treehouse" books.
Broc is also learning to read at preschool, he has caught on to reading very well. He loves to go to preschool, and even loves homework! Hope it lasts!
Macy is busy, busy, busy! She LOVES jewelry, SHOES, getting her hair done, having her fingernails (and toenails) painted, babies, giving loves, and wrestling with the boys!
I am still busy in the R.S. and it takes a lot of my time, but so does everything else in my life so it all equals out!!
Happy Valentines Day to all those we LOVE

Happy New Year!

So this years resolutions are the generic ones... *Get back in shape, spend more time "playing" with family, etc.
For some reason it is a lot harder to exercise with 3 kids, seems like anytime I start to exercise someone needs me to help them. Also the "playing" with family meand doing more fun things with the kids and Kory, like more camping, fishing, fourwheeling, anything of that sort.
Hope everyone has a good year, and good luck with your resolutions.
